TRADINGWATCH

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

We collect as little as possible. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use TradingWatch, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

A free account

The main page, these legal pages and the contact form are open to everyone. The live dashboards need a free account. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not set tracking cookies. You only give us personal data when you sign in or write to us.

Your account

You can sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. We then keep:

  • Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google;
  • Your watchlist and trade journal, so they work on every device you use;
  • When your account was created and when you last signed in, and whether you used Google or email.

We use this only to run your account. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito (part of Amazon Web Services, servers in Mumbai, India), and sign-in codes are emailed through Amazon SES. If you use Google, Google shares only your name and email with us, under Google's own privacy policy; we never see your Google password.

Your sign-in is remembered in your browser's local storage on that device until you sign out.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page (open the menu under your initial at the top right). This permanently removes your email, watchlist, trade journal and sign-in from our servers straight away. Backups that our database keeps for recovery expire within 35 days.

Data stored on your own device

Your watchlist and trade journal are also saved in your browser's local storage, so they work even when you are not signed in. You can remove that copy at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Technical data

Like any website, our hosting and security providers (Amazon Web Services) may briefly process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site, prevent abuse and keep it secure. We do not use this data to identify you or build a profile.

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads. Google's own privacy policy applies.

Telegram

If you join our Telegram channel, Telegram processes your data under its own privacy policy. As a channel, we cannot see your phone number.

Contact form

If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email, phone number (optional) and message. We use them only to reply to you, keep them for up to 180 days, and then delete them automatically. To stop spam, we keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for two hours; we never store the IP address itself.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share data only if the law requires it.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask us about any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, and raise a grievance. Write to our Grievance Officer through our contact form (choose "Other" and mention "Privacy"); we will reply within 30 days.

Children

TradingWatch is meant for adults (18+). We do not knowingly process children's data.

Changes

If we add new features that use personal data, such as alerts or paid plans, we will update this policy before they go live. The date at the top shows the latest version.
